Bologna University Greek and Latin Summer School, 22nd June-10th July 2015

The Department of Classics and Italian studies (http://www.ficlit.unibo.it) of Bologna University offers an intensive three-week Greek and Latin Summer School.
The school offers courses in Latin (beginners and intermediate) and in Greek (beginners) and the possibility of combining two courses (Latin & Greek) at a special rate.
The courses are held in Bologna from 22nd June to 10th July 2015 and are open to students (undergraduate and post-graduate) and non-students alike. Participants must be aged 18 or over.
The teaching will be focused mainly on Greek and/or Latin language with additional classes on Classical literature; further classes will touch on moments of classical history and history of art, supplemented by visits to museums and archaeological sites (in Bologna and Rome).
All teaching and activities will be in English.

Porphyra Issue. No. 23

Porphyra, International Journal for Byzantine Studies is now accepting contributions for its XXIII issue.

Topics can range from a variety of fields and disciplines, such as: history, theology, literature, archaeology, anthropology, art history, et alii. Articles will be accepted in English, Italian, French, Modern Greek, German and Spanish. The deadline for submissions is 15 May 2015.

Please note that Porphyra is a peer-review journal. A proposal is no longer sufficient for a contribution. To be accepted, the article in full must comply with general scientific standards of research and publication and be formatted according to Porphyra editorial rules (found on the website). Each article should be accompanied by a set of keywords (at least 5, preferably 10) and a short abstract (250 words).

As in the previous issues, it is also possible to send monograph reviews which will be published in
the appropriate section once approved by our staff.
