Belgrade Congress Update

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to thank those of you who have already submitted proposals for round tables for the next international congress, which meets in Belgrade in 2016.  I would like to inform you that the Serbian Committee for Byzantine Studies has adjusted the date by which your national committee needs to forward proposals: “National committees may send their thematic proposals and suggestions for round tables, in an unlimited number, accompanied or not with the names of chairs, until the December 31 2012.”  I would like to ask that proposals be sent to me by December 1, 2012.  Those considering proposals should note that the main theme of the congress is: “The Byzantine World in Change,” to which is appended: “Πάντα μὲν γὰρ μεταβάλλεται, ἀπόλλυται δὲ οὐδέν. (M. Planoudes).  Proposals need not conform to this topic.  Should you have any questions, please feel free to send them to me.

With best wishes,

Charlie Barber
President, USNCBS
